Welcome! This is a website that everyone can build together. It's easy!

Welcome to the ACOE Science Wiki! This is a featured page

SpiralsA wiki is a simple website that anyone can edit and contribute to. Your contributions are what will make this wiki a valuable resource for K12 Science Educators. The Navigation menu on the left will help you find your way around this wiki.

Don't worry about making a mistake! The site automatically keeps track of all of the changes which makes it easy to 'undo' changes you might have made accidentally. The benefits of your fantastic science lessons and ideas far outweigh any risks to the site! Please consider sharing your resources with other science educators.

Many of the lessons includes clear instructional targets that are understandable to both parents and students. Many of the instructional targets align with important state and national standards. They also align with the key skills and dispositions that students will need to become successful 21st century citizens. We look forward to integrating key formative and summative assessments into our lessons in order to help students, parents, and teachers better understand when students have achieved the learning targets. You can also learn more about assessments at the Assessment Continuum Wiki.

Oh, by the way, if you like the animation of Newton's Cradle you see below you can download it. We have a whole section dedicated to science animations and clipart on this site.

It is so important to help produce scientifically literate students in our country. With over 1/2 of the U. S. population rejecting the theory of evolution for creationism, it is critically important tht we support a strong science education system within the U.S. We need more of our students to elect to pursue careers in the science in order to maintain our edge as an economic leader in the world. What are the key concepts, skills, and dispositions that a scientifically literate student displays? How can we successfully engage all of our students in meaningful science activities throughout their educational careers that will foster scientifically literate citizens and workers in the 21st century?
